FREE PATTERN FRIDAY: Brooke's Blossoms Week 12
I've heard that fall is a great time for planting, and if that's just a marketing ploy to get me to buy plants, it's working. I ordered some fruit trees and plants that I am anxious to get in the ground, and I've been working on getting my garden set up for success in the spring (and maybe some cool weather crops if I can get it ready in time).
This week's block reminds me of a Maidenhair Fern. If you've never touched one, you really should. The name is not just because of the look of the fronds, but because they are amazingly soft to the touch! Have fun making your blocks, we just have one to go!!
About Brooke's Blossoms: This is a medallion quilt that finishes at 62 1/2" square, but contains many options for other sizes and layouts! All blocks are made with Foundation Paper Piecing, and if you're new to FPP, I encourage you to check out my tutorials and tips on Instagram. Follow me: @crankykangaroo, and use #fppcrankykangarootut to find the videos! As we build, you can stop at any point and still have a finished quilt! You can also use the individual blocks in a variety of ways in other layouts or quilts! I will be sharing some mini quilt ideas as we go along!
