FREE PATTERN FRIDAY: Brooke's Blossoms Week ONE
This week launches the Brooke's Blossoms quilt! We are starting in the center of the quilt, and working our way outward. This means you can stop at any border and still have a finished quilt! I will also have some mini quilt surprises along the way!
If you've seen any of the quilt renditions up until now, you may have noticed that the center block has changed. I didn't feel it matched the feel of the rest of the quilt (it was much more abstract than the other flowers). I was born in Tennessee, so I decided to make a dogwood block as an ode to my southern roots. The block finishes at 6" and is Foundation Paper Pieced. This is an easy week, as you'll need to make just one block.
I have a limited number of acrylic pins made from this pattern! You can find them in my shop HERE.
These are my blocks; I'm doing two versions of the quilt: one in solids and one in batiks. But I'm very tempted to also do a mini version printed at 50% size!
If you want to have a little bit of fun with the dogwood block, make four blocks to assemble into a mini quilt!
