FREE PATTERN FRIDAY: Outer Border B for the Mini Stellar Quilt
If you chose Border A for your Mini Stellar Quilt, the last download was last week. For those of us Border B'ers, this week is the last download! I am so sad for this adventure to come to a close, but my sadness is offset by the satisfaction of a FINISHED QUILT! I chose to make Border B because the finished quilt is 25", and I have my eye on a quilt contest where the maximum size allowed is 25"!
I will miss making this quilt, but I am excited to start our next adventure! I've been working on Brooke's Blossoms, another Foundation Paper Pieced quilt. This one is larger at around 60" square, but it's made from some fairly small blocks (5-6"). Also, it's a medallion quilt meaning it is worked starting with the center block, and radiates out. So you can stop your progress at any point and technically have a finished quilt!
Brooke's Blossoms launches on June 4th, so get your Mini Stellar Quilts done, organize your stash (I'll post fabric requirements next week!), and get ready for a trip through the flower fields!
About our mini quilt adventure: I have always been intrigued by miniature things, almost as much as I love a good challenge! This little quilt finishes at just under 20 inches, not including borders. If you're interested in piecing this mini with me, check here every Friday for the next block! Today's block is in the left top corner, and is Foundation Paper Pieced. I'm planning on a three color quilt, and I'll need about one yard of each color. Feel free to add your own spin to this quilt, or make it a scrap friendly project!
